Restorative Dentistry
Our dental office performs a variety of restorative dental procedures such as crowns, bridges and dental implants. These procedures are usually required as a result of cavities, tooth decay or damage/missing teeth. In addition to restoring functions such as your ability to eat, chew and speak comfortable, it can also improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile.
Types of Procedures
FILLINGS
Bacteria build up cause decay and create holes in your teeth called a cavity. Small cavities can be easily fixed with a dental filling. This immediately stops the decay and reduces the risk of additional damage.
CROWNS
Sometimes cavities are too large to repair with a dental filling, so your dentist may suggest using a crown. A crown is essentially a cap that fits over your entire teeth. Crowns can also be used to restore broken teeth.
BRIDGES
Dental bridges consist of artificial teeth with crowns on either side. They are commonly used to replace a single tooth or a row of missing teeth. Select patients may also consider dental implants.
DENTURES
Dentures are used to repair an entire arch of missing teeth or several missing teeth in different areas of the mouth. They sit directly on top of your gums and are removable.
